As New Jersey’s 2023 high school football season nears, we are zooming in on the state’s top high school football recruits who are most responsible for the viral plays displayed over social media, and the recruiting chatter which occupies the minds of those who love to see native prospects play the game as long as they can, and at the highest levels of play.

We rolled out the NJ.com Top 50 list of New Jersey high school football recruits, as well as a list of “the next 25″ recruits, in July. We profiled our 10th-ranked prospect Gabriel Winowich, a four-star do-it-all athlete who is committed to Rutgers and who will spend his final high school campaign at Notre Dame high school in Lawrence, N.J., after transferring from Detroit Country Day in Michigan this summer.
